The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has revealed a drop in number when total sales in April 2022 have gone 23 percent lower than March 2022 which recorded from 73,222 to 56,213 units were sold.

The numbers are influenced by shortage of chips and components whereas due to shipment interval also has impacted several companies.

However, car brands such as Honda also has reported to experience issues such as delays in deliveries and customers may not be able to receive their new Honda vehicle before the resumption of Sales & Service Tax (SST) due to the production cut.

With the ongoing concerns that landed in automotive industry, MAA expected to have the similar situation in May as well.
