Range Rover Evoque Gets New Tech & Look for 2024MY Update

2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is getting busy refreshing their fleets for the 2024 Model Year (2024MY) update. With the Land Rover Discovery Sport already getting the 2024MY refresh, now it’s time for the marque’s sporty SUV model, the Range Rover Evoque to get the same new year update.

For its exterior, this facelift treatment grants the new Evoque with new front grille design that took inspos from the new full-size Range Rover L460. Said grille is now flanked by a pair of LED matrix headlights with new DRLs. Elsewhere, the 2024 Evoque now comes with flushed door handles for better aerodynamics, while the tailgate gets improved LED taillights with better illumination.

Aside from a slew of exterior hue options including two-tone ones, the 2024 Evoque also comes with multiple choice of wheel designs, with sizes going up to 21-inch.

And just like the Disco Sport, most of the Evoque’s facelift treatment takes place inside its cabin, where the model gets new and improved Pivi Pro infotainment system that comprises of a sizable 11.4-inch curved display. Featuring a more minimalistic front dash design, all of the car’s climate controls are now being integrated into said infotainment system, leaving extra space at the central console for a small storage space and wireless charging pad.

To avoid drivers from scrolling through the screen while driving, JLR has put two permanent side bars on the screen that grants drivers with quick access to essential functions and menu at all times. Aside from that, standard mobile connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) is also available, while the Alexa on-board voice assistant system has also been improved. The Evoque also gets dual-SIM integration with 4G/5G connectivity, meaning that the car is capable of having over-the-air (OTA) software updates, even without a Wi-Fi connection.

As for the cabin itself, said climate control now comes with PM2.5 air purification system, while customers can pick from a slew of new upholstery options, including the new Kvadrat wool that is 58% lighter than standard leather, but is as robust. Elsewhere, a remote app is now available, enabling you to lock and unlock the car, turn on the A/C and even schedule charges via your smartphone.

Moving to its powertrain, all variants of the 2024 Evoque now sport some form of electrification, with the exception of the baseline D165 diesel trim with a manual gearbox.

2024 Range Rover Evoque P300e PHEV

The P300e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant gets a new 14.9-kWh battery pack, where JLR claims it can do up to 63 KM of EV range, but real-world range only goes as far as 50 KM. More importantly, this battery is now rechargeable via a DC fast charging at up to 50 kW rate, capable of fully-charging them in just 30 minutes, while the slower AC 7 kW rate takes about 2 hours to recharge.

The remaining powertrain variants – the D165 and D200 diesels, plus the two P200 and P250 petrol ones, now get a 48-volt mild hybrid (MHEV) setup with automatic gearboxes. As for the trimline variants, the 2024MY Evoque is limited to just four levels – S, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, as well as the range-topping Autobiography.

The 2024 Range Rover Evoque is now open for orders in selected European markets, with prices starting from £40,080 (RM237,764) – which is about £6,010 (RM35,653) more expensive than the previous baseline model’s price tag. JLR however has yet to confirm when the deliveries of the new Evoque will commence, citing production will start when they can get “confidence of supply”.
