The third-gen Nissan Qashqai C-segment SUV has been heavily revised in its latest 2024MY guise for the European market where it has proven to be popular.

The third-generation Nissan Qashqai C-segment crossover SUV has undergone a heavy and bold refresh. Debuting in Europe this week, said popular crossover from the Japanese automaker also sees plenty of changes under its pretty new skin.

The most significant update here is the Qashqai’s front fascia that now mirrors its all-electric Ariya cousin featuring a prominent new front grille, bumper, and all-LED headlights. Changes at the rear end are milder in contrast, but does see new LED taillights and restyled rear bumper at least.

Up front sees a new Ariya-inspired look featuring a new grille, bumper and taillights combo. Changes elsewhere are mild in contrast.

Elsewhere, the refreshed Qashqai also sees a striking two-tone paint scheme offered in higher-end trims as pictured, which features a black-painted roof and upper C-pillar. Also available in higher-end guises are 20-inch alloy wheels that feature a rather striking look and design.

According to Nissan, much of the exterior’s redesigned were inspired by traditional armour worn by samurai warriors. Crucially, Nissan also notes these changes have made the Qashqai more aerodynamic than before, which complements the key changes performed under its hood.

Under the hood, the face-lifted Qashqai is offered with either a 1.3-litre MHEV or 1.5-litre E-Power hybrid powertrain choices. the Latter is pictured, and it even offers EV-like single-pedal like driving mode.

Powering the new revised third-gen Qashqai are electrified 1.3-litre mild-hybrid (MHEV) and 1.5-litre E-Power full hybrid petrol powerplant choices. The latter is the variant pictured, and it serves primarily as a generator to charge up the battery pack paired with it, which in turn juices an e-motor.

Similar in operation as rivals Honda’s and Toyota’s hybrid system, the combustion mill doesn’t drive the wheels directly. It does however offer EV-like single-pedal driving mode, though many European news outlets have also pointed out the jarring omission of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option in the range.

On board, the cabin gets laced with all-new digital displays. The infotainment unit is now Google-powered too.

Powertrain aside, the cabin of the revised third-gen Qashqai has also been revamped with all-new digital instrument and infotainment touchscreen displays. The latter is now a Google-powered unit that offers built-in Google maps and Google personal assistant.

That side, there are more tech advances bundled in like an Around View Monitor camera system with 3D view function, “invisible hood view” and “Parking Spot Location Memory”. Notable too is the upgraded connectivity using the Nissan Connect app that now boasts enhanced anti-theft measures.

The revised third-gen Qashqai is offered only in Europe for now as Nissan shows no plans to offer it in other markets like North America - or locally here - yet.

The revised Qashqai rolls of the line at Nissan’s Sunderland plant in the UK, and is set to arrive in European showroom floors soon. For now, Nissan has no intent to offer this revised third-gen crossover to North America or other markets yet.

Would you fancied this Nissan crossover instead of competitors like the Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX30 or perhaps the Honda CR-V if local Nissan brand vanguards Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) were to offer it locally? As usual, share your take in the comments below…
