Unveiled through both a physical world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show and a digital world premiere on the brand’s website, ‘houseof.maserati.com’, is the new Maserati Levante Hybrid.

Maserati Levante Hybrid is the brand’s first electrified SUV, and it has taken them a major step forward in their strategy for electrification.

It has an aim of improving performance while staying true to the brand’s values, delivering speed and agility while saving fuel and reinforcing the Trident’s dedication to driving pleasure and luxury.

Exploring the Levante Hybrid further, on the performance side, it sports an L4 Mild Hybrid with eBooster and 48V BSG engine. It can produce a maximum power output of 330 hp at 5,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 2,250 rpm.

All of that power has been paired to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, which gets transmitted through an all-wheel-drive system and that enables it to record a top speed of 240 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds.

Additionally, the ingenuity in combining its 4-cylinder and 2-litre engine with a 48-volt hybrid system is brilliant as it takes action in recovering energy during deceleration and braking.

The weight of the hybrid SUV has been well distributed with its battery placed in the rear. This has been done without compromising the load capacity and is also optimally balancing the overall mass of the vehicle.

Aesthetic wise, the Levante Hybrid can be seen with a stance of 5,005 mm in length, 1,981 mm in width, 1,693 mm in height and a wheelbase spanning up to 3,004 mm.

Paint hue, the launch version of the Levante Hybrid can be seen cloaked with a new shade of metallic tri-coat dubbed Azzurro Astro. This can be selected through the brand’s customization package, the Maserati Fuoriserie.

Furthermore, the essence of blue shades, which is the color chosen to identify hybrid cars and also have been used by Maserati on their Ghibli Hybrid, characterizes the three iconic side air ducts, the brake calipers and the C-pillar logo.

Moving on inside, the entire upholstery and other interior aspects can also be seen embellishing the same blue shade, specifically on the embroidered layers of the seats.

Other than that, the company has installed the Levante Hybrid with their new system called the Maserati Connect, which helps the owners to stay connected with their Maserati at all times.

This new system enables drivers to get alerts on servicing due dates, regular upkeep of the car’s health and as well as improving the customer care experience.

What’s more, drivers can stay connected to their car via the Maserati Connect application, which is also possible to access from home via their virtual personal assistant, Amazon Alexa and Google Assist.

Overall, the company claims the Levante Hybrid to be faster than a diesel, more sustainable than diesel or gasoline and characteristically unique.

Regardless, being environmentally innovative, the new Levante furthers the brand’s philosophy behind its entry into the world of electrification by moving into a future, in which all the new Trident models will be electrified.
