The new Audi Q3 Sportback was launched in August 2020. It is the 4th generation of its kind, featuring an improved sportier look.
Aside from the regular variant Audi Q3, the Audi Q3 Sportback is giving the drivers a sporty coupe-style look while still maintaining the comfort of an SUV.
The measurements are 4,500 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width, 1,567 mm in height and weigh 1,545kg, with a wheelbase spanning 2,680 mm.
The Q3 Sportback keeps its definitive sporty exterior look with the large front honey-comb grille, also it has a black cladding finish combining from the fenders all the way through the bottom of the front bumper that gives the Q3 a menacing face.
The rear of the Q3 Sportback is suited up with a new bumper design fitted with diffuser strakes.
The front head lamps for both variants are full LED with auto high beam function, due to the black cladding finish it is fiercer looking.
Both variants’ tail lights are also full LED with dynamic turn indicators and also due to the new coupe style roof it has more of a sportier and sharper looking back.
It is fully automated, adjustments and folding wise. The whole side mirror has a black finish to complete the look.
The Q3 Sportback is equipped with a set of 19-inch in 5-twin spokes Audi Sport alloy rims. It is also coated with a matte titanium finish.
The design is made to feel like an aircraft-cockpit but with a virtual layout and practical for maximum driving experience.
Q3 Sportback has a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit. It is integrated with in-car data and Google Maps. Easily operated by using the multifunction steering wheel. At the same time, the headlight control switch lights up as your finger approaches the button and upon contact the options are shown on the instrument cluster.
The seats have a sporty design and are available in fabric, full leather black and Alcantara. Front seats are electrically adjustable and have a heated seats function. Also the back seat’s backrest angles are adjustable as well.
Front occupants have no issues with space, the feet and legs can be moved around with ease. It can easily fit four adults comfortably.
There are 4 cup holders. 2 in the front and 2 in the back. The front ones are positioned in the middle, in between the passenger and driver and the back ones are positioned in the collapsible middle armrest.
The Audi Q3 Sportback comes with a wireless charging pad and a 12V socket in the front. There are two USB-C and one 12V socket in the back.
The luggage compartment is quite spacious. The loading floor can be adjusted to 2 levels. It ranges from 530 litres to 1,400 litres with the back row seats folded. The back row seats are able to be folded into three separate parts.
The Audi Q3 Sportback has the following cruise control, Audi parking system, rear view camera, AEB and ABS with EBD and ESC systems.
Passive safety includes seat belt reminders, six airbags, seat belt anchors and pre-tensioners.
5 drive modes available - Standard, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency and Off-road.
Features a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Also has a Wi-Fi hotspot function.
The 2.0 TFSI engine produces 230 hp at 5,000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm.
Featuring Audi’s 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic.
Power is sent to all 4 wheels via Audi’s Quattro AWD system.
The Q3 Sportback completed the century sprint in 7.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 220 km/h.
The fuel efficiency figure is 7.2 litres/100km.
The Audi Q3 Sportback genuinely looks like a high-riding coupe, compared to other small SUVs that try to look sportier by installing a set of ornamental looking bumpers and some intricate looking trims.
It is an easy car to drive, fuel wise, it is fairly economical and top notch in the safety department.
