The official distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia, Bermaz Motor has introduced the updated D-segment Mazda 6 sedan in 2020. The new Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L is designed in a specific manner that will give the driver a sophisticated driving pleasure.

There are a total of four variants offered for the new Mazda 6 sedan, starting with the Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L and Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.5L, Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.5L Touring and Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.2L Diesel. All the models are fully imported from Japan and are priced at RM175,964.73, RM 213,692.96, RM 214,157.20 and RM 218,346.49, respectively.

The measurements are 4,865 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,450 mm in height, and weigh 1,515 kg with a wheelbase spanning 2,830 mm.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L exudes a robust yet sleek and sporty exterior with a front bumper that is very masculine looking. It gets a slim and stretched-out chrome wing-like trim that ends under the headlights in a striking pointed fashion. Paired with a wide gap, a commanding matte-black front grill with the Mazda badge boldly placed in the middle along with a slim and sporty slit-like air vent at the bottom of the bumper. The grille adds to the looks along with giving efficiency to the cooling mechanism of the car.

At the rear, the Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L has curvy creases for the overall design. It’s paired with a sporty chrome trim striking through the middle of the boot connecting the large wraparound tail lights. The rear bumper is fitted with angular-shaped fog lights and integrated chrome finished twin exhaust.

It gets a pair of sharp and slim angular-shaped headlamps that come with full-LED units with integrated LED fog lights and fitted with daytime running LEDs. The sharp design gives the front a more focused and athletic look. 

At the back, the tail lamps get LED combination units with LED reverse lights. The large wraparound tail lamps have a design that matches the front headlamps but are shaped slightly thicker and connected by the chrome trim striking through the middle.

The side mirrors are heated, power adjusted and power folded with turn-indicators.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L is equipped with 17-inch gunmetal silver, multi-spoke design alloy rims with 225/55 tyres.

The dashboard design is sleek, practical and premium-looking with high levels of craftsmanship and build quality. It is covered in full black, soft-touch panels with silver trims as a detailing finish. Easiness for the driver, buttons and other controls for the system are placed strategically on the dashboard.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L is installed with a 4.6-inch electroluminescent analogue, TFT-LCD instrument cluster display with an Active Driving Display head-up unit.

The seats are finished in full black leather upholstery. It gets a 10-way power driver’s seat with memory function, lumbar support, and a six-way powered front passenger seat.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L offers plenty of head, shoulder and legroom thus front and rear occupants get ample space. The space is very generous for tall occupants, especially in the rear legroom.

It has numerous storage areas including medium-sized door pockets, compartmentalized storage areas in the centre console and a decent-sized glove box.

There are 4 cup holders, 2 located in the front centre console, while the other 2 located at the rear’s centre armrest.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L gets one 12-volt power socket which is located in the front center console and 2 USB ports located at the center armrest.

With 489-litres of boot space it is able to fit up to 2 large suitcases and also 2 pet carriers at the same time with ease.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L features the new Mazda G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) system, Mazda i-Stop idling technology, Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Cruise Control, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and Hill Start Assist.

Passive safety includes 6 airbags which includes front, side and curtain, seat belt anchors, reminders and pre-tensioners, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera, ISOFIX, front impact beams, side impact beams, door ajar warning and security alarm with immobilizer.

Two drive modes available – Normal and Sport.

The new and updated Mazda G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) system help improves steering response as the driver straightens the wheel, by adding a hint of braking to the outer wheels. This in turn will make the driving more proficient. 

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L features an 8-inch Mazda Connect digital touchscreen infotainment system with voice command. It supports Bluetooth and AUX connectivity and is paired with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and pre-programmed apps such as Waze, Google Maps and Spotify.

The SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder 16-valve, DOHC with VVT petrol engine produces 162 hp of max power at 6,000 rpm and 213 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L gets a SkyActiv-Drive six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Power is sent to its front wheels.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L can go from 0-100 kph in 10.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 kph.

The fuel tank capacity is 62-litres and it is capable of delivering a combined fuel consumption figure of 6.5-litres for every 100 km.

It has smart keyless entry with engine push-button start, remote powered boot operation, dual-zone automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, steering tilt and telescopic functions, 10-way power driver’s seat with memory function, lumbar support, and a six-way powered front passenger seat, rearview camera with front and rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, auto headlights and rain-sensing wipers function.

There’s a rear air vent located at the centre, behind the front occupant’s armrest.

It is spacious and the ride quality is good. The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L’s handling is more relaxed and efficient. Overall it is extremely comfortable and wonderfully quiet to drive.

The Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.0L has good sound insulation. The cabin is able to suppress wind, road and tyre noises well and make them barely noticeable.
