Interior

Dashboard

Inside, the cabin of the EQA isn’t any different from the GLA 250 AMG Line with dual 10.25-inch displays. Unlike the single-zone system in the CKD GLA 250 AMG Line, the EQA 250 comes with dual zone air conditioning, including rear air vents. The rest of the interior is upholstered in Artico man-made leather and Dinamica microfibre.

Centre Console

The EQA gets twin 10.25-inch displays on the dashboard handling the instrument panel and infotainment duties. The whole system runs on Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Instrument Cluster

It gets twin 10.25-inch displays on the dashboard handling the instrument panel and infotainment duties

Seats

The car is specified with sports seats wrapped in Artico faux leather. Interestingly, the front seats get a heater function but without ventilation, which is odd given our hot climate. Only the front seats are powered with the driver getting 4-way lumbar support.

Storage Space

The Mercedes EQA has pretty decent in-car storage space. There's a roomy space under the centre console and in front of that, there are a pair of cupholders and some more storage. You'll also find and a USB C slot and a 12-volt socket. The glovebox isn't huge but it does come with an extra shelf.

Steering Functions

The Nappa leather steering wheel features a variety of intuitive controls. Select and control your music, take phone calls, change information displays and adjust the cruise control, all while keeping your hands on the steering wheel.

The car comes with a wireless charging pad. 1 Front, 2 Front USB-C, 2 Rear USB-C

Build Quality

The EQA is finished with premium materials for all the interior parts including the dashboard, seats and door panels that speak to its exclusivity.

Boot Space

The floor in the rear passenger compartment is higher than in the GLA and the boot volume is down by by about 100 litres by comparison at 340 litres. Additionally, the electric motor occupies the space where you would usually find an internal combustion engine in the regular GLA, so there’s no front trunk (frunk) available.

Wrap Up

Conclusion

At a glance, the EQA may look like an identical twin of the GLA although it is not hard to differentiate them apart as the all-electric SUV features a completely closed black grille together with an LED light strip on top of it which seamlessly “connects” the vehicle’s LED headlamps.
But, the EQA looks more bold and fierce especially with the unique front fascia which features tapered headlamps that flow into a closed-off grille.
The EQA is totally in its own league with plethora of advanced technology, cool features and design to bring the best driving experience for the owners.
