First of its kind representing a new generation of Peugeots, Stellantis Malaysia’s first official release, the 2024 Peugeot 408.
Once a sedan, the French Lion’s C-segment contender is now a fastback crossover, built on Stellantis’ Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2).
Locally-assembled (CKD - Gurun, Kedah), offered are three variants (Allure - MYR 146,055, Premium - MYR 166,055, GT - MYR 196,055).

The new 408 stands at 4,687 MM long, 1,859 MM wide, 1,478 MM (Allure, Premium) and 1,487 MM (GT) tall, and with a wheelbase spanning 2,787 MM.
Angularly-chiselled and -athletic with a robust feline figure, it symbolises Peugeot’s ‘The Language Of Attraction’ design.
Aerodynamic, the front-end sees sharply-lined hood and fenders, framing a vertically-slatted grille (Chrome - Allure, Premium/Body-colour - GT).
Centre-staged is the new ‘Lion Head’ emblem, and featured on the lower bumper is a meshed centre air-vent and angular corner fitments.
Accentuating the whole layout are minimalist body trimmings (Black - bumper, fenders, side sills, side windows).
A dynamic fastback silhouette, the feline stature is furthered with a slanting roofline that flows out mimicking ‘Cat Ears’.
Sportily-angular, the rear-end sees high-rising muscular fenders with lines linking the side profile to the boot-lid spoiler.
Underlining the latter is the new ‘Lion Head’ emblem, and featured on the inverse cut-out bumper is a large protruding diffuser.
Accentuating the whole layout are minimalist body trimmings (Black - centre tailgate, bumper, fenders, side sills, side windows).
Inward-tilted and fiercely-framed, the grille merging headlamps are angularly-slim, projecting a feline-esque design.
Fitted are full LED (Allure, Premium) and Matrix LED (GT) units, with ‘Lion Fangs’ LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), striking down the edges of the bumper.
Features are automatic On/Off, automatic high beam (GT), High Beam Assist (HBA), welcome lights, and sequential turn signals.
The tail lamps are housed in a slim wrapped-around and inward-narrow design, merging with the centre tailgate trim.
Installed are full LED (Allure, Premium) and 3D ‘Lion Claw Effect’ LED (GT - light graphics) units. Features are welcome lights and sequential turn signals.
The side mirrors (black-capped) are electronic-powered (adjust, auto-fold), featuring Blind Spot Detection (BSD) indicators (Premium, GT), sequential turn signals, and automatic-dimming.
Fitted are ventilated (front) and solid (rear) disc brakes, accompanied by an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold system.
Mounted is a set of 18-Inch Granite Grey (Allure) and Granite Black (Premium) alloy rims, wrapped in 225/55 R18 (front, rear) Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance SUV tyres.
Variant GT upgrades to a set of 20-Inch Monolithe Black alloy rims, rubbered-up in 245/40 R20 (front, rear) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres.
The new 408 has a highly-sculpted and an angularly-tiered dashboard. A sharply-lined layout with premium quality materials.
A soft- and hard-panelled Black theme, centre-staged is the Peugeot i-Cockpit setup (3D - instrument cluster, infotainment).
Filling-in the layout are horizontally-slatted Silver trims, featured on the air-conditioning vents, striking three-quarters of the top section.
Overall, the cockpit is well designed with all the buttons being driver-centric, user-friendly and stealthily-embedded in the panels.

The new 408 harbours Peugeot’s PureTech 1.6-Litre, inline four-cylinder 16-valve, direct injection turbocharged, DOHC petrol engine, producing 218 HP at 5,500 RPM and 300 NM of torque at 2,000 RPM.
Mated to the mill is an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Power is transmitted to the front wheels. Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) system.
0 to 100 KM/H is done in 8.8 seconds. Top speed is approximately 200 KM/H.
Fuel tank capacity is 60-Litres, and the fuel consumption reads at 7.56 L/100 KM (NEDC).
