Summary

The official distributor of Renault cars in Malaysia, TC Euro Cars, has introduced the facelifted Megane RS and this updated model features an enhanced powertrain, new interior equipment and subtle cosmetic tweaks inside and out.

Offered in a single variant, the 2021 Renault Megane RS 300 Trophy price in Malaysia starts at RM 326,476 on the road without insurance, with SST exemption. It also comes with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.

Customers can also grab this hot hatch via the company’s subscription programme, the 1-year subscription is priced at RM 7,200 per month, the 2-year plan at RM 6,200 per month and the 3-year plan at RM 5,200 per month.

Body Dimensions

The Renault Megane RS 300 Trophy stands at 4,364 mm in length, 2,058 mm in width, 1,447 mm in height and with a wheelbase spanning 2,672 mm.



Front View

The Renault Megane RS 300 Trophy boasts an athletic front end, featuring an aggressively styled bumper with Formula One inspired front blade in gun metal grey, and gloss-black honeycomb radiator grille stamped with R.S double diamond with Renault Sport badging. 



Rear View

The rear exhibits a bulbous yet sleek layout. It can be seen with a wide lip spoiler, a pair of slit-like air inlets on the lower sides of the bumper and a racing inspired functional rear diffuser featuring a central exhaust exit which completes the overall sporty exterior. 



Headlamps

It features Renault’s Pure Vision full LED front headlights with integrated C-shape daytime running lights and turn signals that are also full LED units which get three overlapping light graphics. 

Then, located on both sides of the lower diffuser are the chequered flag shaped LED fog lamp cluster, which is a nod to Renault’s motor racing heritage. 


Tail Lamps

The tail lamps feature 3D Edge light full LED units with a wraparound, angular and slim-shaped layout. Located at the bottom are the fog lights that complete the whole rear outlook.



Side Mirror

It is power adjusted and power folded, with LED turn-indicators.

The Renault Megane RS 300 Trophy rides on a set of 19-inch alloy Jerez wheels with diamond-cut and red accent finishing wrapped in 245/35 R19 tyres.

Dashboard

The dashboard gets an all-black RS treatment with silver trims as a finishing detail around the air-conditioning vents and the spokes of the steering wheel, where the upper and lower sections are dressed in RS leather and Alcantara. It also gets red stitching details around the console and steering wheels which adds to the racing vibe it’s going for. Overall, its sporty inspired style cockpit layout is elegantly and logically designed to ensure a better driving experience.


Instrument Cluster

The Megane RS 300 Trophy gets a customizable 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster.



Seats

It gets full dark carbon RS sport seats with red stitching fabric upholstery, integrated headrests, height adjustments for the driver and passenger, with the driver getting the lumbar support adjustment.



Space

Front and rear occupants have no issues with space as the Megane RS 300 Trophy has enough headroom, leg room and shoulder room, despite being a hatchback.



Storage Space

It has practical little spaces like a center console storage box, medium sized glove box, front seatback pockets and front side door storage.

There are four cup holders, two in the front center console and two in the rear seat armrest. As for the bottle holders, it has four, with one located at each side door panel.

Charging Ports

The Megane RS 300 Trophy gets one 12V power socket located in the front and one in the back, and four USB ports, with two in the front and two in the back.  

Boot Space

It gets up to 434-litres of boot space that can fit up to two medium sized travel bags easily.

The Megane RS 300 Trophy comes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-start assist, cruise control with speed limiter and electronic parking brake.



Passive Safety

Passive safety includes 6 airbags in total, driver and passenger adaptive front airbags, lateral chest-level side airbags for driver and front seat passengers, and front and rear curtain head airbags, seat belt reminders with graphical indicators and seat belt pre-tensioners for all seats, front and side impact beams, door ajar warning, rear parking sensors, rear view camera and ISOFIX for the back seats.

It comes equipped with a 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automatic transmission.



Acceleration

It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and from 80 to 120 km/h in 3.1 seconds, while hitting a top speed of 255 km/h.

The Megane RS 300 Trophy sports a 49.7-litre fuel tank and combust up to 8.3-litre for every 100 km.

The car now delivers a comfortable yet connected steering feel, with more linear and balanced weighing at all speeds. The overall drive has been tuned to provide complete stability and grip to the driver. 

Sound Insulation

It has good sound insulation, with very good NVH aspects, the ride is quiet, more refined and the road noise is mostly muted.
