A prophecy realized and a new chapter for the house of Goodwood, the first Rolls-Royce in history conceived fully-electric, the Spectre.
It is built on the marque’s Architecture of Luxury platform (bespoke all-aluminium space-frame), and is the spiritual successor to the fabled Phantom Coupe.
Officially in Malaysia, the all-new uber-luxury electric super-coupe rolls with a price tag starting at MYR 2,000,000 (excluded - options, duties, taxes, on-road costs).
Included, a standard warranty (four-year, unlimited-mileage), a battery warranty (ten-year, unlimited-mileage), and 24/7 roadside assistance (Rolls-Royce Flying Doctor).
Note. Every Rolls-Royce is a bespoke commission, built unique and specific to a client’s requirements.
Weighing in at 2,890 KG, the Spectre stands at 5,475 MM long, 2,144 MM wide, 1,573 MM tall, and has a wheelbase spanning 3,210 MM.
Imposingly commanding, it portrays a muscularly luxurious and elegant build, adorned by straight lines and seamless surfaces.
Distinctively RR, the front-end is solidly boxy, complete with a stretched-out bonnet and a symmetrically-designed bumper.
Heightening the layout is the widest-ever-fitted Pantheon grille, featuring illuminated (22 LED) polished stainless-steel columns (active shutters).
Postured at the top is the Spirit of Ecstasy. New and exclusively sculptured, the lady of house RR is now lower in stance and more aerodynamic in profile.
Equally commanding, the rear-end is toned and expensive-looking, exuding a fastback roofline inspired by racing yachts.
Minimalistic and clean, it has horizontal lines flowing to the side profile, forming a unified look, as well as highlighting its width (tall-wide - rear quarter panel).
Fitted is the largest single body panel for RR, covering the rear all the way to the A-pillars. Of which the lower sides are tucked into the sills, furthering the yacht design.
Completing the layout is a lower bumper fitment (diffuser), also yacht-like and matches the rest of the body (front lip, side sills).
Contributing to its outlook is a set of ultra-slim (upper) and symmetrically-boxy (lower) split headlamps.
Fitted are auto LED units in a four-lamp cluster setup (lower) with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) (upper).
Rectangularly- and vertically-framed, the borderline protruding tail lamps hold a very striking presence. Fitted are LED units with vertical light graphics.
The side mirrors are electronically adjusted and folded, with Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) indicators.
Sportily luxurious, it rolls on a set of 23-Inch (optional - 22-Inch) seven-spoke rims, rubbered-up in 255/40 R23 (front) and 295/35 R23 (rear) tyres.
Cockpit of the Spectre is uber premium and luxuriously advanced with high levels of bespoke hand-craftsmanship.
Featured is Canadel panelling, hand-crafted from a range of fine open-pored wood veneers, paired to leather with a myriad of hue options (bespoke selection).
Aligning with the Starlight Doors (4,796 stars), the dashboard incorporates a cluster of stars (5,500 stars) surrounding the Spectre moniker (Illuminated Fascia).
The Starlight Doors feature is optional, as with the Illuminated Fascia (passenger-side dash panel), and the Starlight headliner (1,344 stars).
Overall, the cockpit’s arrangement is both driver- and passenger-oriented, ergonomically-designed with most accessibilities having very easy reachability.
Installed is the Rolls-Royce Spirit Digital Architecture of Luxury, featuring a high-resolution and fully-digital Bespoke Instrument Dials that has a trail of stars on the dials’ hands (bespoke selection - dial colour).
Luxuriously upholstered, the interior’s leather comes in a plethora of colourways (bespoke selection).
Mounted are electronic-powered seats (multi-way adjustment, climate control, ventilation, massage, lumbar support).
The front features a lapel section with selectable/contrasting colours (bespoke selection), while the rear sees a continuous/wraparound seat design (cocoon-style).
An uber luxurious four-seater (four single seats), it offers very generous head, shoulder and leg rooms, thus front and rear occupants have no issues with space.
Entirely, the cabin’s spaciousness is majorly due to its presidential coupe size (large dimensions), a widened build.
Numerous storage areas. E.g., side door and back seat pockets, compartmentalised and caverned spaces in the centre console, armrest pockets, rear armrest storage, and a decent-sized glove box.
Equipped is a three-spoke, two-tone leather steering wheel. It has multi-switches (media, vehicle settings), column adjustments (tilt, telescopic), and an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system.
Multiple cup holders, two in the front centre console and two in the rear seating’s centre armrest. The latter is hidden until revealed (power-operated).
Strategically placed around the cabin, equipped are several charging outlets, such as USB ports, 12-V power sockets, and wireless charging trays.
The boot features a remote-control activation with contactless opening function (powered-tailgate), and has 380-Litres of cargo space.
Also equipped are the Effortless Doors, enabling auto open/close of both doors via the vehicle key, brake pedal (close), or the door itself.
The Spectre features the following suites of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Lane Centring, Lane Departure, Lane Change Warning, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Parking Assist, Collision Warning, Vision Assist with Day/Night and Wildlife/Pedestrian Warning, Multi-Camera System with Panoramic/Helicopter View, Self-Park Function, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and Hill-Start Assist (HSA).
Passive safety includes eight airbags (driver-passenger, front, front-side, full-length curtain, driver’s knee), seat belts (anchor, pretensioner, reminder), ISOFIX, parking sensors (front, rear), parking camera (360-degree), door ajar warning, auto-speed-sensing door locks, Tyre pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and alarm system.
The suites of ADAS installed will make cruising through the city or speeding through the highway a more relaxing, and safer experience.
Installed is the Rolls-Royce Spirit Digital Architecture of Luxury, featuring a newly-designed centre-integrated high-resolution infotainment system.
Spirit supports the vehicle interior settings, entertainment, and is linked to the Whispers app. Also featured is Eleanor, the Rolls-Royce personal digital assistant (voice command).
Incorporated is a 1,400W Bespoke Audio system.
Embedded in the Spectre are two electric motors (Separately Exited Synchronous Motor (SSM) - front-rear, axle-mounted), generating 584 HP/430KW and 900 NM of torque.
Fitted is an automatic transmission.
Power is sent to all four wheels, via an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system aided by a four-wheel steering system.
0 to 100 KM/H is done in 4.5 seconds, and the top speed is 240 KM/H.
Juicing up the e-motors is an underfloor-mounted, 102KWH Lithium-Ion battery, providing a total driving distance of up to 530 KM (WLTP).
AC charging (22KW - Type 2), takes five hours and 30 minutes for a 0 to 100% State of Charge (SoC).
DC charging for a 10 to 80% State of Charge (SoC), takes 95 minutes (50KW - CCS2) and 34 minutes (195KW - CCS2).
The Spectre gets comfort Access system (keyless entry, engine start/stop button), Effortless Doors (auto open/close), powered-boot operation, automatic climate control (rear-vents - dedicated controls), umbrella door storage (with air-dryer), interior lighting (welcome light, ambient light, reading light), steering wheel (multi-switches, tilt, telescopic), electronic-powered seats (multi-way adjustment, climate control, ventilation, massage, lumbar support), wireless charger, Spirit (Eleanor - voice command), parking cameras, parking sensors, auto high-beam and rain sensing wipers.
Air-conditioning vents are present in the rear cabin with its own set of controls.
Equipped is the Rolls-Royce Planar Suspension System. A setup consisting of front upper wishbones (dedicated dampers), a rear multi-link arrangement, and a self-levelling air suspension system.
Paired is a ‘Flagbearer’ function, which uses a stereo camera system to scan the road ahead and prepares the air suspension to soften up any bumps. Rolls-Royce calls it ‘an orchestra of systems’, providing their famed ‘Magic Carpet Ride’.
All in all, it is solid, spacious and extremely comfortable. The ride quality is luxuriously excellent.
Good sound insulation, with all the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) aspects of the build accounted for.
The cabin is able to suppress wind, road and tyre noises extremely well, making them barely noticeable at all speeds and even when cruising through bumpy asphalts.
Innovatively, due to the battery’s positioning (underfloor and chassis integrated), the overall architecture acts as a 700 KG of sound dampener.
The all-new and first-ever Rolls-Royce Spectre is in a class of its own. Radiating an uber luxurious appeal that commands a presence like no other.
Paired to an overall dynamic performance, it offers an electrifying driving experience only a Rolls-Royce is able to.
Its elegant exterior is very well designed with clean surfaces and powerful contours, emphasising on its commanding demeanour.
Quality of the equipment installed inside, really impresses with the upscale, mature design and restrained detailing.
Outstandingly, the Spectre is just a top-of-the-line breed in the uber-luxury segment, bargaining elegance, performance and practicality all in one.
