Summary

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P is an inspired and clever architecture of an SUV adopted from an existing Impreza hatchback as a base. All the new 2nd generation Subaru XV uses the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) and it is built to be quieter, safer and drive better. 

The new Subaru XV is locally assembled and is offered in three variants. Starting with the base range, XV 2.0i which is priced at RM 117,788, second range, XV 2.0i-P priced at RM 131,788 and top range, XV 2.0i-P GT Edition priced at RM 136,788.


Exterior

Body Dimensions

The measurements are 4,465 mm length, 1,800 mm width, 1,615 mm height, and weigh 1,439 kg with a wheelbase spanning 2,665 mm.


Front View

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P exudes a chunky and stocky exterior with a front bumper that is fitted with a bold looking square-shaped black grille that has a very commanding view of the front. It is paired with rounded-shaped fog lights in black cladding finish located at the lower end corners of the bumpers. It also gets a slim stretched out air vent at the lower center of the bumper connecting the fog lights.



Rear View

At the rear, the XV 2.0i-P gets a sporty with box-like curve design. It’s styled with a roof edge spoiler and fitted with slim and angular tail lights. The rear bumper design is paired with square-shaped fog lights with black cladding finish that are integrated into the lower corners of the bumper. It also has a body colored simple diffuser connecting the two fog lights. 


Headlamps

It gets a pair of sharp-looking and angular-shaped headlamps that come with full LED units and fitted with daytime running LEDs. The sharp design gives the front a more focused and athletic look.


Tail Lamps

At the back, the tail lamps get LED combination units. The slim, sharp angular and boxy-shaped tail lamps have a commanding presence of the whole layout. Overall it emphasizes the robust outlook that the entire design is portraying.


Side Mirror

The side mirrors are power adjusted and power folded with LED turn-indicators.    


Wheels

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P is equipped with 17-inch, dual-tone star-bladed alloy rims with 225/60 tyres.

Dashboard

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P gets a dashboard design that is sleek, practical and sporty looking. The upper portion of the dashboard is wrapped with soft touch material with orange contrasting stitching, while the lower dashboard gets an all-black finish. Apart from that it also gets silver trim finishing as a detail stretched across the dash.


Instrument Cluster

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P is installed with a 6.3-inch electroluminescent analogue multi-information display with a dash mounted 4.2-inch TFT-LCD instrument cluster. 



Seats

The seats are finished in black and grey with orange stitching semi-leather upholstery. It gets an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat function.



Space

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P offers plenty of head and legroom thus front and rear occupants get ample space. 


Storage Space

It has numerous storage areas including large-sized door pockets, compartmentalized storage areas in the center console that also has a cavern storage space under the center console’s armrest and a decent-sized glove box.

The XV 2.0i-P features Vehicle Dynamics Control System (VDC), Active Torque Vectoring (ATV), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist and Brake Override, Auto Cruise Control (ACC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC). 

Passive Safety

Passive safety includes 7 airbags which includes front, front side, front and rear curtain and knee, seat belt anchors, reminders and pre-tensioners, safety pedal system, side door reinforcement beams, rear parking sensors with rear view camera, 360 degree camera, ISOFIX, security alarm with immobilizer and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Power is sent to all four wheels via Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

Fuel Consumption

The fuel tank capacity is 63-litres and it is capable of delivering a combined fuel consumption figure of 7.3-litres for every 100 km.

It has smart keyless entry with engine push-button start, remote powered boot operation, dual-zone automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, steering tilt and telescopic functions, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, 360-degree camera, rear view camera with rear parking sensors, paddle shifters, auto headlights, steering responsive headlights and automatic rain-sensing wipers function.

Ride Comfort

The comfort levels are decent. It feels snug yet comfortable on the inside. Rough road surfaces are moderately dampened and the seat cushions provide good support to the passengers. Overall, for long and short distance journeys, it makes for a comfortable ride.

Sound Insulation

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P has a noise level of 69 dB at 110 kph. The engine and transmission noise is a little whiny but bearable. However, the NVH aspects of the interior cabin is fairly decent with its road, tyre and wind noises adequately suppressed.
