UMWT has launched the facelifted version of the Toyota Alphard in Malaysia. On sale now, the recreated version comes with sumptuous appeal and different styling features.

Toyota is only offering it in one variant, the Toyota Alphard 3.5L, and it comes with a price tag of RM 446,609.

The measurements are 4,945 mm length, 1,850 mm width, 1,895 mm height, with a wheelbase spanning 3,000 mm and weighing 2,135 kg.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L emphasises on luxury and it comes with a very robust yet elegant design. The smooth edges and creases making up the front of the vehicle really makes the body pop with style.

The front showcases a massive chrome silver finished grille that is integrated with the lower vent, creating a large square-shaped, wide silver nett-like design within a large inverted trapezoidal housing. 

Paired to the chrome triangular housings for the fog lamps located at the lower edges of the bumper adds a finishing premium touch to the front fascia.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L gets sharp and slim angular-shaped headlamps with full LED projector units and LED DRLs with sequential turn signals and the pointed and striking design gives the front a more focused and athletic look.

At the back, the taillights get LED combination units and also sequential turn signals. The 3D tail lamps are in bright red with a signature L-shaped lighting with smoked lens and dark chrome. Giving it an outlook that compliments the minimalist design the rear layout is portraying.

The side mirrors are power adjusted and power folded with LED sequential turn signals and blind spot indicators.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L rides on a set of 18-inch silver finished multi-spoke design alloy rims with 235/50 R18 Toyo Tranpath R30 type tyres.

The dashboard gets a driver-oriented layout with a more modern and sleeker looking metal brown wood trim finish. The material quality is high, with a mixture of soft-touch and hard plastic all black panels that gives an overall premium feel.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L gets a 9-inch Electroluminescent Analogue Display with MID 3D graphics instrument cluster.

The seven-seater luxury MPV’s seats are finished in a Flaxen beige leather upholstery. It gets a power adjustable function for all seats. Notably, the passenger’s seat has heating and cooling functions as well as an ottoman feature. So does the second-row, which features two individual captain seats also with ottoman support, while the third row is a 50:50 split folding seat with sliding and store-away function.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L offers a very generous head, shoulder and legroom thus front, middle and rear occupants get ample space. The space is very spacious and luxurious overall especially in the back, considering the robust body design that it has. Also, the cabin feels very spacious due to the presence of large glass areas.

It has generously equipped storage areas including large sized door pockets, side door armrest pocket, a couple of storage areas in the new cascading centre console including a cavern storage space in the centre console armrest and a decent-sized glove box.

There are 4 cup holders located in the front, 4 in the 2nd row and also 4 in the last row.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L features only one 12V power socket, one USB port at the bottom of the centre console up front and a wireless smartphone charger hidden under the front armrest.

The boot space is flexible, with all the 3 rows in use, there’s enough boot space to store about 3 medium-sized luggage. With the 3rd-row seats folded up, the boot space is really big and vast. Additionally, the 2nd-row seats can be slid forward to create an even bigger boot space.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L comes with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite of systems which include Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), Hill-start Assist (HSA), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) and Parking Support Brake (PKSB).

Passive safety includes 7 airbags which includes driver front, side, curtain and driver’s knee, seat belt anchors, reminders and pre-tensioners, auto parking, front and rear parking sensors, reverse parking camera, ISOFIX, tyre pressure monitoring system and security alarm.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L features a 9-inch AVX touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Hands Free Telephone Function (HFT), Bluetooth and AUX connectivity and is paired with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a 10.2-inch middle row ceiling-mounted HD entertainment display.

Features a setup of an upgraded 17-speaker JBL sound system.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L is fitted with a 2GR-FKS, 3.5-litre V6 naturally aspirated 6-cylinder inline DOHC petrol engine with VVTi-W which can produce 296 hp (300 PS) at 6,600 rpm and 361 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L churns with an 8-speed CVT automatic gearbox.

Power is sent to the front wheels.

It can sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds while hitting a top speed of 180 km/h.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L sports a 75-litre fuel tank and a consumption of 9.5-litre for every 100 km.

It has smart keyless operation with push engine start, remote powered boot operation, full controlled middle row and last row air conditioning with Nano-e air purifier, multi-function steering wheel, steering telescopic functions, powered seats for all with heated and cooling for front passenger, second and middle row passengers, ottoman support, rear view camera with front and rear parking sensors, fully digital rear-view camera display mirror, auto headlights and rain sensing wiper function.

There is full controlled air conditioning with Nano-e air purifier located at each of the three row seats.

The seats are comfortable and the ride is smooth. Especially over long journeys with the amount of cabin space it offers along with the seating configurations and placements.

The Toyota Alphard 3.5L has good sound insulation. It has great overall NVH levels with plenty of vibration control and soundproofing materials, as well as effective placement of sandwich steel plates and an aerodynamic wind-noise reducing vehicle body shape that results in a quiet ride at all speeds.
