Even If RM314 Million Is Settled, MyEG's JPJ Services May Not Return The Same Way

If you're waiting for MyEG's JPJ services to come back online, settling the RM314 million in outstanding government revenue might only be the first step.

Zetrix AI Bhd has now submitted a proposed solution to the government over the outstanding remittances, saying its immediate priority is to resolve the obligations and work towards restoring the affected services.

But don't expect MyEG's JPJ services to suddenly flick back on.

The government hasn't agreed to restore them yet. In fact, Transport Minister Anthony Loke says the full RM314 million must be settled before reinstatement will even be considered.

TL;DR

  • Zetrix has submitted a proposed solution over the RM314 million in outstanding government revenue, but details of the proposal haven't been disclosed.
  • The government says the full RM314 million must be settled first before restoring MyEG's affected JPJ services will even be considered.
  • Even if MyEG eventually returns, the payment system could change, with the government considering a model where payments go directly into its account.

First, What Has Zetrix Actually Proposed?

That's the big unanswered question. Zetrix confirmed that it has submitted a proposed solution to the government for consideration, but hasn't disclosed exactly what the proposal contains.

So, for now, we don't know whether it involves an immediate settlement, some form of repayment arrangement or something else entirely.

What we do know is how we got here.

MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd had their services as JPJ collection agents suspended from Oct 5 after RM314 million in government revenue collected between May 19 and Sept 30, 2026 was not transferred to the government.

The figure is a major jump from the more than RM200 million outstanding amount Carz reported earlier in this developing story.

According to Loke, the authorities issued 35 reminders and held four engagement sessions in their efforts to recover the money.

MYEG had also issued a RM231 million cheque dated Sept 30. However, Loke said the payment wasn't processed by the bank following instructions from the company.

His position now is straightforward: the full RM314 million must be settled first.

Even Then, It Might Not Be Business As Usual

This is where the story gets more interesting. Even if the outstanding amount is fully settled and MyEG eventually returns as a JPJ collection agent, the system may not work the way it did before.

SETTLEMENT DOESN'T MEAN BUSINESS AS USUAL

Loke says full settlement is a non-negotiable precondition before reinstatement is considered. Even after that, additional conditions would be imposed on any future commercial collection-agent arrangement.

Loke says additional conditions would be imposed if commercial collection agents are allowed to continue operating.

One of the changes being considered would allow third-party platforms to continue facilitating transactions, while the actual payments go directly into the government's account.

That would effectively remove the part of the process where collected government revenue sits with an intermediary before being transferred.

So this isn't simply a case of settling RM314 million and switching everything back on.

Need To Do A JPJ Transaction Now?

For motorists, nothing has changed yet. MyEG and Zetrix's affected JPJ services remain suspended, but JPJ's wider services continue through alternatives including the MyJPJ app, JPJ Public Portal, counters and kiosks.

Zetrix has also assured customers who used the affected JPJ services before the Oct 5 suspension that those transactions had already been processed and fulfilled.

So if you completed a transaction before the suspension kicked in, the company says it has been taken care of.

MyJPJ Is About To Become Even More Important

There's a bigger shift happening in the background too. The Transport Ministry plans to introduce more features to MyJPJ next month as part of its longer-term push to let motorists deal directly with JPJ instead of relying on third-party agents.

Loke says around 20% of motorists still depend on external collection agents, so they aren't disappearing overnight. Pos Malaysia, for example, continues operating normally and has no outstanding arrears, according to the minister.

But the direction is increasingly clear: the government wants more motorists dealing directly with JPJ.

FAQ: What Motorists Need To Know

Are MyEG's JPJ services back online?

No. MyEG and Zetrix's affected JPJ services remain suspended. Zetrix has submitted a proposed solution to the government, but reinstatement has not been approved.

Has the RM314 million already been settled?

Not based on the latest information available. The government says the full RM314 million in outstanding government revenue must be settled before reinstatement of the affected services will even be considered.

How can I do my JPJ transactions while MyEG is suspended?

JPJ services remain available through alternatives including the MyJPJ app, JPJ Public Portal, JPJ counters and kiosks, depending on the transaction you need to perform.

What if I made a MyEG JPJ transaction before Oct 5?

Zetrix says transactions completed before the Oct 5 suspension had already been processed and fulfilled.

Will MyEG's JPJ services automatically return once RM314 million is settled?

No. Full settlement is a precondition for the government to consider reinstatement, not a guarantee that services will immediately resume. The government also plans additional conditions for commercial collection agents, including a possible system where payments are credited directly into the government's account.
