The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric has made its Malaysian preview, with the upcoming C 300 4MATIC Electric AMG Line Plus carrying an estimated price of RM360,888.
The electric sedan promises up to 690 km of WLTP range, 421 PS and 320 kW DC fast charging.
However, there's a catch: the C 400 displayed at the preview isn't the same specification Malaysian buyers will receive. Here are five things worth knowing.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has indicated an estimated RM360,888 price for the C 300 4MATIC Electric AMG Line Plus, although final pricing has yet to be announced.
The event presentation also advertised estimated monthly payments from RM3,988 under Agility+ financing, subject to applicable terms. Initial units are expected to be fully imported (CBU), with deliveries anticipated in early 2027.
The Malaysian C 300 4MATIC Electric produces 421 PS and 800 Nm from its dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds.
According to Mercedes-Benz's official technical information, its 85 kWh usable battery and 800-volt architecture support up to 690 km of WLTP range and 320 kW DC fast charging, with a claimed 10–80% charging time of around 22 minutes under suitable conditions.
The Malaysian variant also comes with a 22 kW AC onboard charger, while actual driving range and charging performance will depend on driving conditions, temperature and charger capability.
The electric C-Class retains the proportions of a premium Mercedes-Benz sedan, but introduces a bolder front grille, slim headlights and a sculpted bumper, as seen on the C 400 displayed at the Malaysian preview.
Built on the dedicated MB.EA electric platform, the sedan measures 4,883 mm long with a 2,962 mm wheelbase. Mercedes-Benz's global specifications also list a 470-litre rear boot and 101-litre front storage compartment (frunk), adding useful practicality beyond its styling.
For the Malaysian market, the C 300 4MATIC Electric AMG Line Plus is equipped with 20-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels and DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, distinguishing it from the C 400 display vehicle.
Carz's photographs from the Malaysian preview reveal the displayed C 400's expansive MBUX Superscreen, circular turbine-style air vents and striking orange-brown upholstery, complemented by a panoramic glass roof.
However, the Malaysian-market C 300 4MATIC Electric AMG Line Plus gets the larger 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, alongside black AMG sports seats with red stitching and a Burmester 3D surround sound system.
At an estimated RM360,888, the electric C-Class enters Malaysia's premium electric sedan segment with promising range, performance and charging capabilities.
However, buyers may also want to watch the upcoming BMW i3 Neue Klasse, while awaiting confirmation of the Mercedes-Benz's final selling price and delivery schedule.
